How the PT trials are arranged

  • PT trials are arranged 4 times a year

  • Participants receive their samples in good time before the trial starts. The participants analyze their samples in the same 2-weeks period.

  • Participants submit their results within a final date, and receive a preliminary report approximately 2 weeks after the final date.

  • A final report is made available in approximately 5-6 weeks.

  • Due to holidays in the summer and around Christmas, the reports may be delayed.

The trial for water PT consists of 3 freeze dried vials of simulated water samples. The reconstituted samples are somewhat more contaminated than drinking water to make sure targets are detected. The samples contain a combination of bacteria and fungi that are suitable for the determination of the following:

  • Total plate count, 22 ºC and 36 ºC

  • Coliform bacteria

  • Thermotolerant coliform bacteria

  • E.coli

  • Enterococci

  • Clostridium perfringens

  • Pseudomonas aeruginosa

  • Moulds and yeasts

Details regarding date of the trials, registration and costs can be found here.
